Nabbit™ and KDWB Create Twin Cities’ First Ever Interactive Concert
Users can Nabb songs in real-time at KDWB’s upcoming Jingle Ball event.
Eagan, MN., December 5, 2008—Jump Technologies, Inc (JumpTech™), creators of Nabbit, announced today that they have reached an agreement with Minneapolis radio station KDWB to allow attendees of their Jingle Ball 2008 concert to use their mobile phones to tag live music and other potential actives during the show. This year’s event will be on December 15 at the Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minn. Jingle Ball, held annually by KDWB, is one of the Twin Cities’ most popular winter experiences.
Attendees will be able to send a text message to Nabbit at the time a song they like is being played during the concert. The attendee will receive a text message with the name of the song they are listening to. Nabbit will save that song in the attendee’s personal Web account found at Nabbit.com. From there they can purchase and download the song from their favorite music libraries such as Napster or iTunes.
KDWB’s Jingle Ball is held every holiday season in the Twin Cities and features a variety of artists who have spent time on the Billboard music charts. The event has become one of the Twin Cities’ marquee attractions. KDWB currently anticipates welcoming more than 10,000 attendees to this year’s event. This year’s event will feature performances from Rihanna, T.I., Chris Brown, David Archuleta, Boys Like Girls, Lady GaGa, and Shontelle. All of the artists’ music can be Nabbed during the event in real-time.
“How many times have you been at a concert and wished you could download the music you are hearing?” said John Freund, Chief Nabber for Nabbit.com. “Now anyone attending KDWB’s Jingle Ball concert will be able to Nabb the music they hear at the show, and download it when they get home.”
Already adding as many as 500 users per day, Nabbit is quickly becoming the number one source for interacting with broadcast content. Launched in October of 2007, Nabbit allows users to Nabb anything they hear on the radio. Once Nabbed, the user can download music or ringtones, check out concert information or song lyrics, or take advantage of advertisers’ special offers they Nabbed from the radio.
“We have allowed users to Nabb radio content for over a year now,” Freund said. “Today we are creating the Twin Cities first-ever interactive concert. Not only will attendees be able to Nabb songs, some of their favorite vendors will be on hand with special offers that attendees will be able to Nabb throughout the night. Nabbit is taking concert events to a whole new level for concert goers.”
Nabbit is a service that is offered for free to consumers. The company generates revenue through advertisers who use the Nabbit platform to create interactive broadcast, mobile, online and direct response advertising campaigns. Users can Nabb either by sending a text message containing the frequency of the radio station they are listening to, selecting the radio station from presets created by the user at Nabbit.com, or by clicking on songs and ads through the company’s Facebook application.
